Precisazione sui modelli B3/B4:
Il progetto comune di 80/90/Coupè/Cabrio iniziò la vendita grosso modo nel 1987, sono tutte nate come progetto typ89, tranne la Cabrio, sempre nata come typ89 e quindi B3 ma che fu
commercializzata dopo (in periodo B4 per intenderci)...infatti questo codice typ89 si ritrova nei libretti di circolazione come "modello" omologato e vale per tutte indistintamente sia come B3
che B4...ma in particolare:
...le 80 sono le uniche che variarono veramente come telaio da B3 a B4 con il cambio del serbatoio e la variazione delle sospensioni dietro per ampliare il bagagliaio, oltre qualcosina agli
interni...le altre, in particolare la Coupè, tranne la 90 che non fu più prodotta come B4, diventarono B4 per un discorso di uniformità di immagine e presero la mascherina con bordo cromato e i
dettagli variati degli interni delle 80 B4...ma per il resto rimasero tecnicamente delle B3...
Tutte ribadisco sono omologate come typ 89...typ 89 che identificava commercialmente, in realtà, solo le prime 80/90 B3...qui si può vedere, a livello commerciale la classificazione...
80/90 B3 / typ 89 fino al 07/89
80/90 B3 / typ 8A dal 08/89
Coupè B3-B4 / typ 8B (tecnicamente sempre rimasta B3)
80 B4 / typ 8C (unica variata veramente rispetto alla B3)
Cabrio B4 / typ 8G (tecnicamente è una B3)
